Muhtasibs in Baghlan Province Arrested an Individual Accused of Sorcery
A person accused of engaging in activities contrary to Islamic Sharia, including sorcery and witchcraft, was arrested in Central Baghlan district of Baghlan Province by personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Directorate for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA.
The individual, who had allegedly been practicing witchcraft for several years, was identified and arrested following public reports and the necessary investigations. Books and documents related to these activities were also seized.
Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Baghlan Province stated that the practice of sorcery and witchcraft is contrary to Islamic principles and values, and that such acts harm the religious beliefs and spiritual well-being of citizens.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry in Baghlan further stated that safeguarding the religious faith and spiritual welfare of the public is one of their primary priorities, and that individuals who seek personal gain through acts deemed contrary to Islamic Sharia will be dealt with in accordance with Sharia principles.
It is worth noting that, following the completion of the preliminary investigation, the suspect's case has been referred to the judicial and legal authorities of Baghlan Province.
