Officials of the Ministry rescued 16 women from domestic violence in five provinces
In the provinces of Balkh, Nangarhar, Sar-e Pul, Baghlan, and Takhar, Muhtasibs rescued 16 women from domestic violence as part of efforts to protect women’s rights and prevent mistreatment and abuse against women in society.
The women had been subjected to mistreatment by their husbands and family members. The Muhtasibs also helped ensure that the women received their Sharia-based rights.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice said that the women had been subjected to severe domestic violence due to mistreatment by their husbands.
Through the efforts of the Muhtasibs, the women were rescued from abuse and enabled to receive their Sharia-based rights.
The officials (Muhtasibs) added that the cases involved domestic abuse, financial maintenance (Nafaqah), confinement within the home, bride price, inheritance, and other related matters, all of which were resolved by the Muhtasibs. They said that serious efforts to ensure women’s rights continue.
