The rights to inheritance, maintenance, and bride price were granted to 16 women in Takhar, Balkh, Zabul, and Farah provinces
The officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice have, in line with their commitment to women's rights and pursuant to a six-article decree issued by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, granted Sharia-based inheritance, maintenance, and bride-price rights to 16 women in Takhar, Balkh, Zabul, and Farah provinces.
These women's cases had remained unresolved for a long time, as they sought to claim their rights from their brothers and other family members.
Officials (Muhtasibs) say the women had been demanding their inheritance, maintenance, and bride-price rights from their brothers and relatives for a long time.
Despite numerous efforts, they had been unable to obtain their legally recognized rights under Sharia.
Through the efforts of the ministry's inspectors, they have now received their entitlements.
Officials added that they would make every effort to ensure that women receive all their Sharia-based rights and would not allow anyone to engage in violent or abusive behavior against women.
