Officials of the Minstry have arrested seven individuals accused of sorcery in the provinces of Paktika, Laghman, Sar-e Pol, and Balkh
Inspectors (Muhtasibs) in Laghman, Sar-e Pol, Balkh, and Paktika provinces have continued their daily activities and arrested seven individuals accused of sorcery.
The suspects allegedly caused discord and problems among families under the guise of spiritual healing and amulets, and engaged in harmful practices involving witchcraft and magic in exchange for money. They were arrested along with a large number of books on sorcery and amulets deemed contrary to Islamic Sharia.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that, following complaints from local residents, the suspects were arrested along with books on sorcery and tools used for magical practices.
The individuals allegedly collected money from people under the pretext of resolving family problems while engaging in unlawful activities.
They will be referred to judicial and legal authorities for further investigation.
Morality inspectors also reaffirmed that they would not allow anyone to engage in superstitious or Sharia-prohibited practices in society.
They called on the public to cooperate with the inspectors in eliminating such harmful practices.
