Officials of the Ministry arrested four individuals accused of sorcery in Balkh and Parwan provinces
During their ongoing daily activities, officials (Muhtasibs) in Balkh and Parwan provinces arrested four individuals accused of practicing sorcery in the Zari and Jabal Saraj districts of the two provinces.
The individuals were reportedly creating discord and problems among families under the guise of performing spiritual healing and providing amulets.
They were also allegedly carrying out harmful practices involving witchcraft and magic in exchange for money.
They were arrested along with numerous books on sorcery and what authorities described as unlawful amulets.
Officials (Muhtasibs) said that, following complaints from local residents, they arrested the alleged sorcerers together with books and materials related to witchcraft.
The individuals had reportedly been taking money from people on the pretext of solving family problems and engaging in practices considered unlawful.
The suspects will be referred to the judicial and legal authorities for further investigation.
The Muhtasibs also stated that they would not allow anyone to engage in superstitious or unlawful practices in society, and called on the public to cooperate with them in eliminating such harmful practices.
