In Paktika, a 60-year-old dispute was resolved through the efforts of the Muhtasibs, and reconciliation was achieved between the parties involved

In Paktika Province, the officals (Muhtasibs) of the Directorate of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints, in accordance with their religious, moral, and social responsibilities, mediated through religious scholars and tribal elders to resolve a 60-year-old feud between two families over a murder in the Shahr-e Gayan area of Gayan District.

The long-standing feud, which began following the killing of a woman and continued for nearly six decades, had led to ongoing disputes and deepened the distance and resentment between the two families.

Through the mediation of the province’s officials (Muhtasibs), religious scholars, and tribal elders, the dispute was resolved and the two sides were reconciled.

At a public gathering held to facilitate the reconciliation, the province’s Muhtasibs, religious scholars, and tribal elders spoke about the importance of unity in Islam.

They said that Muhtasibs are making every effort, in line with the ministry’s policies, to prevent ethnic and tribal conflicts, and that their efforts in this regard are continuing.

It is worth noting that last week, provincial officials of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, resolved 12 major feuds and 58 minor disputes across the country and facilitated reconciliation between the parties involved.
