Officials of the Ministry rescued five women from various forms of abuse in Ghazni and Paktia Provinces
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Paktia and Ghazni Provinces say that, in commitment to protecting women’s rights, they helped five women in the centers and districts of these provinces regain there is/la/mic legal rights after they had been deprived of them due to domestic violence and harmful traditional practices.
According to the officials, these women had been subjected to abuse and had their rights violated for a long time because of harmful customs, but were rescued through the efforts of the Ministry’s local authorities. It is worth mentioning that the provincial officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints continuously hold reform and awareness meetings with local communities aimed at ensuring women receive their rights and at improving public understanding on these issues, which they say has led to noticeable progress in this area.
