Three cases of forced marriage involving women were prevented in the provinces of Parwan, Ghor, and Nangarhar
Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints in the provinces of Parwan, Nangarhar, and Ghor addressed four Sh/aria-related cases involving women, prevented three cases of forced marriage, and facilitated the lawful marriage of a young couple in accordance with Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia and with the consent of both parties.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry in the aforementioned provinces stated that these cases were investigated following the receipt of public complaints.
Through reformative, advisory, and awareness-raising sessions, the ministry’s personnel encouraged families to observe the principles of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia, protect the lawful rights of women, and respect the requirement of mutual consent in marriage contracts.
As a result, three cases of forced marriage were prevented, and the conditions for one lawful marriage were successfully provided.
Ministry officials (Muhtasibs) in these provinces further emphasized that the ministry’s inspectors remain committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights of citizens, especially women, in accordance with the teachings of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia. They also seek to address social and family issues through reformative and peaceful approaches.
