Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints in Zabul Province, in line with their social responsibility and efforts to ensure social justice, prevented a harmful incident in which a girl was to be given away as (Baad) the practice of giving a girl in marriage to settle disputes, in Shamulzayi District.

In this regard, the department's officials (Muhtasibs) stated that the young girl was being forced by her family members to marry a member of the opposing side in an un-Is/la/mic manner in order to resolve a feud that had arisen over legal disputes.

The officials of the department intervened and prevented the marriage from taking place.

Meanwhile, local residents have described this decision as an important step toward ensuring social justice, preventing violence against women, and particularly stopping forced marriages.

This comes as inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, have reportedly resolved thousands of cases related to women's rights across many provinces of the country, including unwanted marriages, domestic confinement, domestic violence, bride price disputes, and inheritance issues, and their efforts in this regard are continuing.
