A Woman Released After Enduring Six Years of Domestic Violence and Abuse in Zabul Provincial Center
Following efforts and follow-up by officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Zabul Province, a woman was freed from a difficult situation after enduring nearly six years of domestic violence and mistreatment.
The woman’s case was addressed after she approached the relevant department of the Directorate for the Promotion of Virtue in Zabul Province and filed a complaint.
During a reconciliation meeting, officials of the directorate heard the statements of the parties involved and, in accordance with Islamic principles, took the necessary measures to resolve the case and prevent further injustice.
As a result, further violence and mistreatment against the woman were prevented, and the necessary steps were taken to ensure her Sharia-based rights.
It is worth noting that officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints have previously also comprehensively addressed the cases of more than 30 other women in the provinces of Takhar, Badakhshan, Ghazni, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul, Nimroz, and Bamyan, involving matters such as inheritance, dowry (Mahr), maintenance, and various forms of mistreatment.
