Weekly Summary of Activities by the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints

During the current week, the personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints, within the framework of implementing the rulings of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia and in cooperation with religious scholars, tribal elders, and various segments of society, carried out effective activities aimed at strengthening religious values, ensuring social order, promoting virtues, and preventing vices in the capital and provinces of the country.
1. Addressing the Sh/ar/ia Rights of Women:

During the current week, a total of 156 cases related to the Sh/ar/ia rights of women were handled by the personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue. Among these, 89 cases of abuses were prevented, 20 cases related to women’s inheritance rights were reviewed, 17 cases of forced marriage were prevented, 11 dowries were restored, 8 alimony cases were addressed, arrangements were made for 5 lawful marriages, and 6 divorce cases were pursued in accordance with Sh/ar/ia principles.                                                2  .Resolution of Disputes and Conflicts:

Muhtasibs of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, in cooperation with religious scholars and tribal elders, successfully resolved 9 cases of enmity and 56 major and minor disputes among tribes and families in the capital and several provinces of the country during the current week, in accordance with Sh/ar/ia principles and rulings.
3.  Arrest of Individuals Accused of Sorcery: 

In an effort to safeguard Islamic values and prevent the spread of practices contrary to Sh/ar/ia, 10 individuals accused of sorcery were arrested during the current week in the provinces of Balkh, Paktika, Kabul, Daikundi, Parwan, and Kapisa.
4. Holding Economic Meetings:

To prevent hoarding, fraud in weights and measures, and to ensure compliance with Sh/ar/ia principles in trade, 186 reform and coordination meetings were held with traders and shopkeepers in various provinces of the country during the current week. Additionally, hundreds of kilograms of low-quality and expired food items were collected from markets and destroyed.
5. Conducting Public Awareness and Reform Meetings:

As part of ongoing reform and awareness efforts, the personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, held 435 reform and awareness meetings during the current week across the country, attended by religious scholars, tribal elders, youth, and other segments of society. These meetings were conducted with the aim of promoting virtues, preventing vices, and combating harmful customs and traditions.
