Two professional sorcerers were arrested by personnel of the Ministry in the provinces of Takhar and Balkh

Inspectors of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Balkh and Takhar arrested two sorcerers during their operations.

The individuals had allegedly been creating discord and problems among families under the names of spiritual healing and amulets, and were carrying out acts of magic and sorcery in exchange for money.

They were detained along with numerous magic-related books and non-Is/la/mic amulets.  Officials stated that the two dangerous sorcerers were arrested together with their magical tools. They had been taking money from people under the pretext of solving family problems and engaging in unlawful acts. The suspects will be referred to judicial and legal authorities for further investigation.

The inspectors (Muhtasibs) also emphasized that they will not allow anyone to carry out superstitious and un-Is/la/mic practices in society, and they called on the public to cooperate with the inspectors in eliminating such harmful phenomena.
