Two individuals who allegedly exploited the lack of awareness among citizens in Balkh Province by practicing sorcery and creating discord among families, while earning large sums of money through these activities, were arrested yesterday by personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Chahi District of the province. They were apprehended along with documents and evidence.
Local officials from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints in Balkh stated that the documents seized from the two suspects indicate that they accepted substantial payments in exchange for causing conflict and division among families—an act they described as a major sin and prohibited under the teachings of Is/l/am.
Following the completion of the initial investigation by the ministry's inspectors (Muhtasibs), the case files of the detained individuals were referred to the relevant judicial and legal authorities in the province for further legal and Sh/ar/ia-based proceedings.
Meanwhile, a number of residents of Chahi District in Balkh welcomed the efforts and activities of the Ministry's personnel (Muhtasibhs) in promoting virtue, preventing vice, addressing public complaints, and combating acts considered contrary to Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia.
They also pledged to observe Is/la/mic teachings in all aspects of their lives and to fully cooperate with the ministry in upholding Is/la/mic values.
