Three women were rescued from forced marriages in the provinces of Ghazni and Paktia
Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Paktia and Ghazni provinces, in line with their commitment to protecting women's rights, rescued three women whose family members intended to marry them off against their will due to harmful customs and in exchange for large sums of money.
These women were being forced into marriage without their consent as a result of harmful traditional practices and financial considerations.
The situation was prevented after the women submitted complaints to the provincial Departments of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints, seeking assistance in resolving their cases.
It is worth noting that the officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints consider the protection of women's rights to be one of their top priorities and have affirmed that they will not allow anyone to violate or undermine women's right.
