Three cases of forced marriages involving women were prevented in Nuristan Province

Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Barkmatal District of Nuristan Province prevented three cases of forced marriage as part of their ongoing efforts to enforce the rulings of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia and prevent abuse and violence against women.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue in Nuristan Province stated that the cases were investigated after complaints were received from the affected women.
The department's personnel then conducted a series of reformative, advisory, and awareness sessions, calling on the families involved to observe the rulings of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia, safeguard the legitimate rights of women, and uphold the principle of mutual consent in the marriage contract.
As a result of these efforts, three cases of forced marriage were successfully prevented.
The officials (Muhtasibs) further stated that the department's Muhtasibs remain committed to protecting the legitimate and Sh/ar/ia based rights of citizens, particularly women, in accordance with the provisions of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia and the decrees of the Amir al,Mu/min/in.
They added that the department will continue to address social and family disputes through reformative, advisory, and peaceful means.
