The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA. stated that, in accordance with Is/la/mic law and through what it described as reform programs, it carried out a range of activities during the week aimed at promoting virtue, preventing vice, strengthening Is/la/mic brotherhood, safeguarding people's Is/la/mic legal rights particularly those of women and combating practices it considers contrary to Is/la/mic law.

1. Official Visits by the Minister

She/ikh al-Had/ith Ma/wla/wi Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, the minister of the ministry, continued his provincial visits during the week. He met with religious scholars, tribal elders, and local government officials in Zabul, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Nimroz, and Helmand provinces. During the meetings, he emphasized the implementation of Is/la/mic law, enforcement of the ministry's law on the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice, and stronger cooperation between religious scholars, community leaders, the public, and Muhtasibs.

2. Cases Related to Women's Rights

The ministry reported handling 118 cases involving what it described as women's Is/la/mic legal rights during the week. According to the ministry, this resulted in:

Prevention of 60 cases of violence against women. Prevention of 10 forced marriages. Review of 8 inheritance cases. Restoration of dowry rights for 11 women. Resolution of 9 maintenance cases. Facilitation of 8 marriages conducted in accordance with Is/la/mic law. Handling of 12 divorce cases in line with Is/la/mic legal provisions.

3. Action Against Alleged Sorcery

The ministry stated that, during the week, its personnel (Muhtasibs) identified and arrested 13 individuals on allegations of practicing sorcery in Baghlan, Balkh, Nangarhar, Takhar, Parwan, Kabul, and Jawzjan provinces. The ministry said the arrests were made as part of efforts to protect Is/la/mic values and preserve what it described as the religious integrity of society.

4. Resolution of Disputes

The ministry stated that its personnel resolved 15 long-standing feuds and 53 family, tribal, and local disputes through dialogue and reconciliation based on Is/la/mic law, describing the effort as part of promoting social harmony and strengthening Is/la/mic brotherhood.

5. Economic Meetings

According to the ministry, Muhtasibs held nearly 200 meetings during the week with traders, manufacturers, business owners, and other economic actors across various provinces. The ministry said the meetings focused on preventing hoarding, monitoring prices, preventing the sale of substandard and expired goods, and protecting consumers' rights.
