A sorcerer was arrested in Sayedabad District of Maidan Wardak Province
A man was arrested in Sayedabad District of Maidan Wardak Province by personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, on charges of engaging in acts contrary to Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia, including sorcery and witchcraft.
The suspect, who had reportedly been involved in practicing witchcraft for several years, was identified and apprehended following public reports and the completion of necessary investigations.
A number of books and documents related to these activities were also seized during the operation.
Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints in Maidan Wardak stated at the time of the arrest that sorcery and witchcraft are contrary to Is/la/mic principles and values, and that such practices harm the religious beliefs and spiritual well-being of citizens.
Officials (Muhtasibs) further emphasized that safeguarding the religious and spiritual integrity of the public remains one of their fundamental priorities.
They added that individuals who seek personal gain through activities deemed contrary to Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia will be dealt with in accordance with Is/la/mic legal principles.
It is worth noting that, following the completion of preliminary investigations, the suspect’s case has been referred to the judicial and legal authorities of Maidan Wardak Province for further proceedings.
