As part of his provincial visits, Shaykh al-Hadith Mawlawi Muhammad Khalid al-Hanafi, the Minister of Enjoining Good, Forbidding Evil, and Hearing Complaints, held a meeting in Herat with religious scholars, tribal elders, influential figures, and officials from Herat, Farah, Ghor, and Badghis provinces during his official visit to the western provinces. The meeting focused on coordination regarding the implementation of the ministry’s law, the promotion of virtues, and the prevention of vices.

In his remarks, Shaykh al-Hanafi stated: “International claimants of human rights do not actually understand the definition of human rights, because human rights are not limited to only two or three issues. Rather, security, protection of life, property and honor, preventing people from corruption and deviation, freeing people from narcotics, and other matters are among the fundamental human rights. These are rights that, according to him, only the Islamic system has provided.”

He added: “Global non-Islamic powers remain silent regarding the killing of thousands of women and children and the atrocities committed against them in other parts of the world, but they create controversy over hijab in Afghanistan and other matters that are considered religious obligations under Sharia, and they deliberately distort realities for their political objectives.”

Continuing his remarks, Shaykh al-Hadith Muhammad Khalid al-Hanafi addressed the international community, saying: “In Afghanistan, human rights are ensured in accordance with the principles of Islam. Those who claim humanitarian concern should show genuine human sympathy toward oppressed peoples whose human rights have been violated by the tyrants of the time and who have even been deprived of the right to live.”

He also called on media officials, saying: “It is your duty to first implement the law of enjoining good and forbidding evil upon yourselves and then convey it to the people through your own platforms. At present, the media can serve the role of the pulpit; it is your responsibility to fulfill your obligations in this regard.
