The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, reported that its inspectors (Muhtasibs) in Paktika Province rescued seven women from various forms of abuse in the districts of Yusufkhel, Khushamand, Wurmi, Wazikhwa, and Argun.

According to provincial inspectors (Muhtasibs), these women had been subjected to physical and psychological violence by their families for several years and were also mistreated by their in-laws. Through the efforts of the inspectors, they were freed from these conditions.

The inspectors added that they are fully committed to ensuring women receive their rights in accordance with Sh. ar/ ia and will not allow anyone to violate those rights. It is worth noting that during the past month of Hamal, the ministry’s inspectors handled more than 401 different cases nationwide related to women’s rights.

These included issues such as inheritance, domestic violence, dowry disputes, forced marriages (giving women in BAAD), and unlawful marriages, all of which were addressed and resolved.
