Officials (Muhtasibs) of thevMinistry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, through its inspectors in the provinces of Nimroz, Badakhshan, Parwan, Balkh, Badghis, and Zabul, has prevented the forced marriages of ten women, demonstrating its commitment to women's rights.

These women were at risk of being married off against their will by family members due to excessive bride price demands and harmful traditional practices.

The intervention took place after the women filed complaints with the provincial departments of the ministry to seek resolution of their cases.

This comes as the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints considers the protection of women's rights a top priority and assures that no one will be allowed to violate thier rights.
