Prevention of the forced marriage of two women in Zabul Province
As a result of the efforts of the personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, two cases of forced marriage involving women were prevented in the Shah Joy and Atghar districts of Zabul Province.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry in Zabul stated that these cases were pursued following reports received from the public.
Through the effective intervention of the Ministry’s inspectors (Muhtasibs), the implementation of the two forced marriages was successfully prevented. Such actions form part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to protect the Sh/ar/ia-based rights of women, prevent forced marriages, and promote a culture of marriage conducted in accordance with religious values.
In this process, the Ministry’s inspectors, in cooperation with families, religious scholars, and community elders, work to create the necessary conditions for lawful and consensual marriages.
It is worth noting that these efforts demonstrate the Ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the Sh/ar/ia-based rights of women and implementing religious programs and initiatives throughout the country.
