Officials )Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, in Kapisa Province prevented the forced marriage of a young woman in the provincial center in order to safeguard her Is/la/mic and legal rights.

According to the ministry’s officials in the province, after receiving a complaint from the family of the young woman, personnel of the ministry conducted a comprehensive investigation into the matter. As a result, they were able to prevent the imposition of a marriage against the girl’s consent.

During a meeting with the parties involved, the ministry’s representatives emphasized that, in the sacred religion of Is/la.m, marriage is founded upon the principle of mutual consent, and that forcing a marriage without the approval of both parties is contrary to Isl/am/ic values and the principles of justice.

It is worth noting that these efforts by the personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints reflect the ministry’s commitment to protecting the Is/la/mic rights of women and advancing religious programs throughout the country.
