Following efforts by officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, to control prices, prevent fraud, hoarding, and the sale of low-quality and expired goods, hundreds of items of substandard food products and medicines, weighing nearly two metric tons, were collected from markets in Zabul Province and destroyed.

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the provincial Directorate of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in Zabul stated that these measures were carried out to protect public health, safeguard consumers’ rights, and prevent the distribution of expired and non-standard goods.

They emphasized that market inspections will continue regularly and that violators will be dealt with in accordance with Is/la/mic laws.

Local officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry in Zabul Province also urged residents to pay close attention to the quality, standards, and expiry dates of food items, medicines, and other necessities when making purchases.

They encouraged citizens to report any violations to the officials of the directorate.

Meanwhile, a number of Zabul residents welcomed the action, describing it as an effective step toward protecting public health, preventing the sale of poor-quality goods, and ensuring consumer rights.
