Muhtasibs rescued three women from non-Sharia-compliant marriages in the provinces of Zabul and Nangarhar
Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, in Zabul and Nangarhar provinces, demonstrating their commitment to protecting women's rights, rescued three women whose family members intended to marry them off against their will in exchange for large sums of money and as a result of harmful traditional practices.
These women were being forced into marriage without their consent due to harmful customs and financial arrangements.
The practice was prevented after the women filed complaints with the Directorates of the Promotion of Virtue in their respective provinces seeking assistance and resolution of their cases.
It is worth noting that officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints consider the protection of women's rights a priority and affirm that they will not allow anyone to violate or undermine the rights of women.
