Muhtasibs rescued seven women from un-Islamic marriages in four provinces

Officials (Muhtasibs) in the provinces of Paktika, Ghor, Laghman, and Nuristan, during the course of their daily duties, rescued seven women as part of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice's efforts to protect women's rights and prevent harmful traditional practices.

These women had been at risk of being married off against their will due to harmful customs.

Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that the women's family members intended to force them into marriage without their consent in accordance with such harmful traditions, but the muhtasibs intervened and prevented these forced marriages.

It is worth noting that during the previous month of Saratan, officials from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, resolved 388 different cases related to women's rights.
