As part of their ongoing efforts, officials (Muhtasibs) in Maidan Wardak, Uruzgan, and Laghman provinces rescued four women who had allegedly been subjected to mistreatment by their husbands and family members and were experiencing severe domestic violence.

According to the statement, the women were provided with what the authorities described as their Islamic legal rights as part of efforts to protect women's rights and prevent violence against women in society.

Officials (Muhtasibs) from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice stated that some of these women had endured severe domestic violence for as long as ten years due to their husbands' abusive treatment and had been living in their parental homes.

They said that, through the efforts of the Muhtasibs, the women were reunited with their husbands and were able to obtain what the authorities described as their Islamic legal rights.

The Muhtasibs further stated that the cases involved issues such as domestic abuse, maintenance (nafaqah), bride price (walwar), and related family disputes, which they said were resolved by their officials. They added that their efforts to ensure women's rights are ongoing.
