Muhtasibs Monitor Markets in Six Provinces, Emphasizing Compliance with Sharia Principles in Transactions

The officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Laghman, Sar-e Pul, Nimroz, Takhar, Kapisa, and Parwan conducted inspections of local markets with the aim of maintaining order in the markets, preventing commercial violations, protecting consumer rights, and promoting a culture of lawful and ethical business.
During these inspections, the officials (Muhtasibs) assessed the general condition of the markets and the manner in which traders, shopkeepers, and business operators conducted their transactions.
In separate meetings with trade associations and economic actors, they emphasized the importance of observing Islamic Sharia, ethical principles, and standards of fairness in commercial dealings.
The officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue emphasized the importance of lawful earnings in individual life and economic prosperity in society. 
They called on traders and shopkeepers to observe honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, and transparency in their transactions and to refrain from under-measuring or under-selling, price gouging, hoarding, deceiving customers, and other improper commercial practices.
They stressed that, according to Islamic Sharia, transactions must be based on the mutual consent of the parties, justice, transparency, and respect for each party’s rights. 
Neither party to a transaction should violate the rights of the other through deception, concealment, or causing harm.
The meetings also emphasized performing prayers in congregation and observing religious practices in commercial environments. 
The trade community was urged to conduct their economic activities within the framework of Islamic Sharia and ethical values, as trade based on honesty, trustworthiness, and respect for people’s rights contributes to prosperity in business and strengthens trust in society.
