In the first month of the year 1405, the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints, in light of the rulings of Islamic Sharia and through the implementation of reform programs, has carried out effective and valuable activities aimed at promoting virtues, preventing vices, strengthening Islamic brotherhood, ensuring the Sharia rights of the people—especially women—and combating actions contrary to Sharia.

1.  Addressing Women’s Sharia Rights:

Within the framework of implementing the rulings of Islamic Sharia and ensuring women’s legal rights, officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints handled a total of 401 cases related to women’s Sharia rights during this month.

These cases included 206 instances of oppression, 48 inheritance claims, 42 forced marriage cases, 30 dowry (mahr) cases, 26 cases of non-payment of maintenance (nafaqah), 27 cases of facilitating lawful marriages for girls, and 22 divorce cases.                                                                   2.Resolution of Disputes and Enmities:

During the month of Hamal of the current year, in an effort to strengthen the spirit of Islamic brotherhood and solidarity, the ministry’s officials resolved a total of 54 long-standing enmities and 238 disputes—both major and minor—among tribes and families in the center and various provinces of the country, in accordance with Sharia.

3. Detention of Practitioners of Sorcery:

In order to safeguard religious values and ensure the soundness of the community’s beliefs, officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints identified and detained a total of 58 individuals accused of practicing sorcery in the center and several provinces during the first month of the current Hijri year.

4. Economic Meetings:

To prevent hoarding, control prices, and stop the distribution of low-quality and expired goods, inspectors held 820 reform meetings this month with traders, economic actors, and shopkeepers across various provinces of the country. Additionally, more than ten tons of expired and low-quality food items were collected from markets and, after completing legal procedures, were destroyed.

5.  Public Meetings:

Finally, in an effort to promote virtue and prevent vice, officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints conducted more than 5,000 reform meetings during this month, attended by religious scholars, community elders, and various segments of society across the country.
