Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints in Kabul, Takhar, and Paktika provinces have arrested four professional sorcerers while they were engaging in activities contrary to Islamic Sh/ar./ia, along with books and documents related to magic.

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry stated that these individuals, using magical tools and books, were attempting to create division and conflict among families.

With the cooperation of the people, they were arrested and, after preliminary investigations, were referred to judicial and legal authorities.

The Ministry's personnel (Muhtasibs) emphasized that magic and sorcery are major sins and clear manifestations of corruption, and they will take strict action against any activities that go against Islamic values. The arrest of these four sorcerers comes after the Ministry's officials, during the month of Hamal this year, apprehended nearly 60 individuals involved in magical practices and referred them to legal authorities for the application of Sh./ar/ia justice.
