Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, have rescued 17 women in the provinces of Khost, Takhar, Parwan, Uruzgan, Kabul, Balkh, Baghlan, and Zabul.
The intervention was carried out with the aim of protecting women's rights and preventing harmful incidents against women in society.
According to the ministry, these women had been subjected to mistreatment by their husbands and family members and were facing severe domestic violence. The inspectors helped them obtain their rights under Is/la/mic law.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that among these women, some had been living for a long time in their parental homes because of mistreatment by their husbands and had been left in an uncertain situation.
Through the efforts of the inspectors, they were reunited with their husbands and enabled to enjoy their rights as recognized under Is/la/mic law.
