Inspectors Emphasize Compliance with Islamic Sharia Rulings in Commercial Transactions in Six Provinces
As part of their ongoing daily activities and in accordance with Islamic Sharia and the ministry’s guidelines, inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, held awareness raising and reform meetings with traders, shopkeepers, and business operators in Takhar, Balkh, Farah, Nimroz, Laghman, and Sar-e Pol provinces.
The meetings aimed to promote lawful commercial transactions, establish a sound economic system, regulate prices, prevent hoarding, usury, and underweight measurements, and ensure that quality products are supplied to markets.
During these meetings, the inspectors emphasized the importance of observing Islamic Sharia in commercial activities.
They urged traders and shopkeepers to conduct their transactions with honesty, integrity, and fairness, respect consumers’ rights, and refrain from practices such as usury, hoarding, selling goods in short measure, and other transactions prohibited under Islamic law.
The meetings also highlighted the importance of adhering to quality standards, supplying safe and high-quality products, and cooperating to meet the needs of the public.
Furthermore, during market inspections, the ministry’s inspectors collected hundreds of food and non-food items that were substandard or expired. Following the completion of the relevant legal procedures, these products were destroyed at designated locations.
It is worth noting that since the ministry began its activities in this area, its inspectors have collected and destroyed thousands of tons of expired and substandard food and non-food products across the country.
According to some citizens, these corrective and monitoring activities have contributed to improving market conditions and encouraging traders and shopkeepers to comply with Islamic guidelines in their commercial activities.
