Four women were arrested in Kunar Province on charges of promoting acts contrary to Sharia law
Officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Kunar Province, based on repeated requests from the market guild council, tribal elders, Mosque Im/ams, and local residents, arrested four women on charges of promoting prostitution while operating under the cover of begging.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry in Kunar Province stated that the women had been moving around shops and commercial markets in the city of Asadabad from morning until evening under the pretext of begging. In some cases, they allegedly distributed their contact numbers to shopkeepers. Following repeated complaints and requests from the public, personnel of the Ministry detained them and, after conducting preliminary investigations, referred them to judicial and legal institutions for further proceedings in accordance with Is/la/mic law.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints once again emphasized that, in line with preserving Is/la/mic values, ensuring the moral security of society, and addressing the legitimate demands of the people, they will continue taking necessary measures in accordance with the principles of Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia.
