Inspectors (Mutasibs) from the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Khost province have rescued five women from different forms of abuse in the provincial center and districts, with the aim of ensuring women’s rights and preventing harmful practices.

These women had been subjected to physical and psychological violence by their husbands and families for several years, and had also faced mistreatment from their in-laws. Through the efforts of the inspectors (Muhtasibs), they were able to obtain their rightful Islamic rights. The inspectors stated that they are fully committed to protecting and ensuring women’s legitimate rights and will not allow anyone to violate them.

It is worth noting that the department’s inspectors (Muhtasibs) have previously addressed numerous cases involving women, including domestic violence, dowry-related issues, forced marriages (giving women in settlement of disputes), and non-Sh,ar.ia-compliant marriages.
