Arrest of a Professional Sorcerer in Logar Province

Following continued efforts by officials(Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints to ensure public order and prevent acts contrary to Islamic law, a professional sorcerer was arrested in the Mohammad Agha district of Logar province.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry stated that the individual was identified and detained following public complaints and initial investigations. He was apprehended along with books and documents related to sorcery.
After the completion of preliminary investigations, his case was referred to judicial authorities for further legal proceedings in accordance with Sh,ar,ia.   Local officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in Logar province stated that resorting to sorcery and similar practices is contrary to religious values and doctrinal principles, and may lead to intellectual deviation and social harm within society.
They also called on the general public of the province to remain vigilant against such cases, to refrain from seeking assistance from individuals claiming such practices, and to report any such incidents if observed.
