Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the provinces of Zabul, Balkh, Sar-e Pol, Paktika, Baghlan, Takhar, Farah, and Ghor have rescued 30 women from domestic violence and ensured their access to their Sh/ar/ia-based rights as part of efforts to protect women's rights and prevent abuse against women in society.
Officials (Muhtasibs) from the Ministry stated that these women had been subjected to severe domestic abuse by their husbands or other family members over an extended period.
Through the efforts of the ministry's inspectors, they were reunited with their husbands and granted the rights to which they are entitled under Is/la/mic law.
The inspectors (Muhtasibs) added that the cases addressed included domestic abuse, maintenance (nafaqah), unlawful confinement within the home, bride price (walwar), inheritance, and other related family matters. They emphasized that the ministry's efforts to safeguard and uphold women's rights continue.
