20 Women Rescued from Various Forms of Abuse in Seven Provinces
Inspectors of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, rescued 20 women in the provinces of Uruzgan, Kunduz, Faryab, Kapisa, Balkh, Nangarhar, and Takhar.
These efforts were carried out to ensure women’s rights and to prevent harmful practices. The women, who had been facing difficulties due to harmful traditions and were deprived of their Sh/ar/,ia rights, were granted their rightful entitlements.According to the inspectors, these women had long been subjected to mistreatment by their families based on harmful customs and baseless notions of honor, and had been deprived of all their Sh/ar/,ia rights.
Through the efforts of the inspectors (Muhtasibs), they were rescued.
The inspectors further stated that they are fully committed to ensuring women receive their Sh/ar/ia rights and will not allow anyone to violate these rights.
It is worth noting that the ministry’s inspectors (Muhtasibs) have addressed thousands of cases across the country related to women’s rights, including issues of inheritance, domestic violence, bride price, forced marriages, and unlawful marriages.
