13 women were rescued from domestic violence in Maidan Wardak, Nimroz, Kunduz, Faryab, and Helmand provinces
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Maidan Wardak, Nimroz, Kunduz, Takhar, Faryab, and Helmand provinces have demonstrated their commitment to women’s rights by ensuring that 13 women—who had been deprived of their Sharia-based rights due to domestic violence and harmful customary practices—were granted their lawful rights in the centers and districts of these provinces.
According to the officials, these women had been subjected to mistreatment for a prolonged period based on negative traditions, and their rights had been violated.
However, through the efforts of the ministry’s representatives, they were rescued and their rights restored.
It is noteworthy that the provincial authorities of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints continuously hold reformative meetings with local communities to promote women’s rights and raise public awareness.
These efforts have led to noticeable improvements in this area.
