Two individuals accused of promoting superstition and exploiting people's religious beliefs were arrested in Takhar Province

Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, in Bangi District of Takhar Province arrested two individuals accused of promoting superstition, practicing witchcraft, and exploiting people's religious beliefs after receiving complaints from local residents.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry in Takhar stated that the suspects misled members of the public and harmed their religious beliefs by claiming to perform spiritual healing and prayers and by engaging in practices described as contrary to Islamic law.
Following complaints from local residents, the suspects were arrested along with documents and items allegedly related to such activities and were referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The ministry's personnel (Muhtasibs) in Takhar said that similar cases will be dealt with in accordance with the law and religious values to prevent fraud, the spread of superstition, and harm to the community's religious beliefs.
Meanwhile, local residents welcomed the action, saying that preventing the activities of individuals who exploit people's religious beliefs is important for preserving the religious and social values of the community.
