The Sharia rights of 11 women regarding their dowries (mahr) were secured in three provinces

Personnel of the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints have comprehensively addressed 11 Sharia-related cases concerning women's dowry (mahr) rights in the provinces of Balkh, Takhar, and Zabul as part of their efforts to protect women's Sharia rights and respond to public complaints.
Officials of the ministry in the concerned provinces stated that, following the receipt of complaints from the affected women, the cases were thoroughly examined in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, while fully observing the ministry's principles, procedures, and the Law on Hearing of Complaints. As a result, the complainants' Sharia rights concerning their dowries were secured, and their full legal entitlements were restored.
The ministry also noted that this process comes in addition to its efforts over the past three months, during which nearly 1,000 other women were reportedly able to obtain their Sharia rights in matters related to inheritance, dowry (mahr), and maintenance (nafaqah) through the ministry's interventions.
