Three women in the provinces of Balkh and Ghor received their dowry rights
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, have comprehensively addressed three legal cases concerning women's dowry rights (Mahr) in Balkh and Ghor provinces as part of their efforts to safeguard women's Is/la/mic rights and respond to public complaints.
According to officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry in these two provinces, the women had been seeking their dowry rights for many years but continually faced opposition from their husbands.
Eventually, they approached the provincial offices of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints and requested assistance in securing their legitimate Is/la/mic rights.
After receiving the formal complaints, ministry personnel (Muhtasibs) summoned the husbands and advised them to pay their wives' dowries in full, in accordance with the provisions of Is/la/mic law and without any reduction.
The husbands subsequently pledged to deliver the specified dowries to their wives.
It is worth noting that while these cases were being processed, nearly one hundred other women over the past three months have also succeeded in obtaining there is/la/mic rights regarding inheritance and dowry through the efforts of the ministry's personnel.
