Conducted extensive awareness-raising sessions by Muhtasibs to prevent extravagant post-Hajj expenditures in the capital and provinces
In line with implementing and putting into practice Decree No. (17) of His Excellency the Am/ir al/Mu/min/in, concerning the prevention of extravagant spending, the elimination of harmful customs and traditions in society, and the promotion of a culture of moderation and thrift, personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, organized numerous reform and public awareness meetings in the capital and across the provinces.
These meetings were attended by religious scholars, local officials, community representatives, tribal elders, and other influential members of society.
Participants emphasized the importance of adhering to Is/la/mic teachings, avoiding wastefulness and extravagance, and following the guidance and directives of His Excellency the Am/ir al/Mu/mi/nin.
Meanwhile, Ma/wla/wi Saif-ul-Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints, citing verses from the Holy Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, described wastefulness and unnecessary expenditures as undesirable practices and stressed the need for moderation in all aspects of life.
Religious scholars and tribal elders participating in these meetings welcomed the directives of His Excellency the Am/ir al/Mu/mi/nin and described Decree No. (17) as an important step toward social reform, reducing economic pressures on families, and strengthening Is/la/mic values within society. They also pledged their full cooperation in ensuring its implementation.
It is noteworthy that the inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints continue to conduct public awareness and community outreach programs throughout the country as part of their ongoing reform efforts.
They remain committed to fully implementing the directives of His Excellency the Am/ir al/Mu/min/in and to addressing and reforming harmful social customs and traditions with determination and seriousness.
