Prevented the forced marriage of two women in the provinces of Ghor and Parwan

Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Ghor and Parwan provinces, in line with their commitment to protecting women's rights, rescued two women whose family members intended to marry them off against their will in exchange for large sums of money and due to harmful traditional practices.

These women were being forced into marriage without their consent as a result of harmful customs and financial arrangements.

The situation was prevented after the women submitted complaints to the provincial departments of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, seeking resolution of their cases.

This comes as the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints considers the protection of women's rights one of its key priorities and reaffirms that it will not allow anyone to violate or undermine the rights of women.
