Officials of the Ministry in Logar and Paktika provinces ensured that four women received their rights to Islamic marriage*
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, in Logar and Paktika provinces have ensured that four women who had been deprived of their Sha./r.ia marriage rights due to family disputes and harmful customs, and whose family members were not allowing them to marry—have now been granted those rights through the efforts of theofficials (Muhtasibs) in both provincial centers and districts.
Officials of the Ministry stated that these four women had been kept by their family members for a long time and had been deprived of their right to Sh,ar,/ia compliant marriage.
Through the intervention of the Muhtasibs, they have now been freed from long-term deprivation and have obtained their rightful Isla.mi.c marriage rights. The officials added that a woman’s consent in marriage is her legitimate Sh,ar/ia right and must be respected.
They emphasized: We will not allow anyone to violate women’s rights, and we will prevent incidents that threaten these rights.”
On the other hand, local residents have praised the efforts of the Muhtasibs in promoting good practices, preventing wrongdoing, and defending and ensuring women’s Sh/ar/ia rights. They expressed confidence that these efforts will help prevent many harmful customs and un-Islamic practices in society.
