The Achievement of The Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing Complaints During the Mouths of February/ March( Kab, the last Mouth of Hijri Year 1403)
Women's Rights Protection
The Muhtasibeen of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints have addressed 84 legal cases related to women's rights in Kabul and various provinces during the months of February/March. Among these, 32 women were granted their inheritance and Mahr(dowry) rights, 22 cases of forced marriage and exchange Marriage were prevented, and 30 women were rescued from domestic violence.
Additionally, during this period, the Muhtasibeen of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints continued their efforts to strengthen social justice, unity, and Islamic values. They successfully intervened in 77 cases of enmity and tribal conflicts across various provinces, resolving disputes and fostering peace between the involved parties.
Arrest of Sorcerers and Prevention of Superstitions:
During the months of February/ March, the Muhtasibeen of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints arrested 18 individuals accused of sorcery as part of efforts to combat superstitions, unlawful practices, and corruption. These individuals were handed over to judicial and legal authorities for further investigation.
Reform Meetings with Businessmen:
To promote a stable economic environment and ensure trade in accordance with Islamic values, the Muhtasibeen of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue conducted 28 reform meetings with businessmen in Kabul and the provinces during the past months of February/ March. These meetings focused on price regulation, preventing hoarding, usury, fraud, and deceit in business transactions.
Public Awareness Meetings:
To promote virtue, prevent vice, enhance public awareness, and ensure community coordination, the Muhtasibeen of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints conducted 560 reform meetings during the past months of February/ March. These meetings included discussions with Emirate officials, tribal elders, youth, and religious scholars.
Complaint Handling:
During the past months of February/ March, the Complaint Hearing Directorate of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints registered 287 physical complaints from the general public. Among these, 96 complaints were resolved within the directorate to the satisfaction of the complainants, 24 were referred to relevant institutions for resolution, and the remaining complaints are still under investigation.
Additionally, during this period, 764 complaints were registered through the free 191 telephone hotline. Complainants were guided on where to seek resolutions, and relevant contact details of the provincial offices of the Ministry of Promotion of Virtue were provided.
Overall, during the months of February/ March, a total of 1061 complaints were registered by the Complaint Hearing Directorate. Out of these, 96 complaints were resolved.
It is noteworthy that most complaints received via telephone were referred to provincial or relevant departments for further resolution and investigation.
