Muhtasibs rescued 12 women from domestic violence across 4 provinces
Muhtasibs (inspectors) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, rescued 12 women in Nangarhar, Laghman, Maidan Wardak, and Balkh provinces as part of their efforts to safeguard women's rights and prevent violence against women in society. These women had been subjected to mistreatment by their husbands and other family members and were enduring severe domestic violence.
Through the intervention of the Ministry's Muhtasibs, they were protected and enabled to obtain their Sh/ar/ia-granted rights.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that among these women were several who had been living in their parental homes for an extended period after suffering abuse from their husbands, leaving them in uncertain circumstances.
Through the efforts of the Muhtasibs, they were reunited with their husbands and restored to their legitimate rights under Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia.
It is worth noting that the Muhtasibs of the Ministry for the promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints have rescued thousands of women from domestic abuse, forced marriages, and unlawful confinement as part of their ongoing efforts to protect women's rights and prevent un-Is/la/mic practices.
They have also secured for thousands of women their Sh/ar/ia rights, including inheritance, maintenance (nafaqah), dower (mahr), and the right to marry by their own choice. These efforts continue across the country.
