In Chimtal District of Balkh Province, inspectors detained an individual accused of practicing sorcery, along with books and tools allegedly used for magic
A man who had reportedly been engaged in activities contrary to Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia, including the practice of sorcery and witchcraft for many years, was arrested yesterday in Chamtal District of Balkh Province.
Books and documents related to witchcraft were found in his possession. Following an investigation, he was handed over to the judicial and legal authorities in the province.
Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA,in Balkh Province stated that the practice of sorcery and witchcraft is contrary to Is/la/mic principles and harms the religious and spiritual beliefs of citizens.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry's provincial directorate in Balkh added that safeguarding the spiritual and religious well-being of the public is among their top priorities, and they will take firm action against individuals who seek personal gain through activities that violate Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia.
It is worth mentioning that, after being reviewed by the (Muhtasibs), the case file of the accused was referred to the judicial and legal institutions of Balkh Province.
