In Logar, Muhtasibs ensured that two women received their rights to a lawful Islamic marriage

Officials (Muhtasibs) of Logar province, under the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, helped two women who had been deprived of there is/la/mic marriage rights due to family disputes and harmful customs, and whose family members had refused to allow them to marry according to Sh/ar/ia. Through the efforts of the muhtasibs, they were able to obtain these rights.
Local officials (Muhtasibs) stated that these women had been kept by their family members for a long time and had been denied their right to a lawful marriage.
With the intervention of the muhtasibs, they were freed from this prolonged deprivation and were granted their Sh/ar/ia-based rights. Officials added that a woman’s consent in marriage is her Is/la/mic right and must be respected.
 They emphasized: “We will not allow anyone to violate women’s rights, and we will prevent incidents that threaten those rights.”
Meanwhile, local residents praised the actions of the officials (Muhtasibs) in promoting good practices, preventing wrongdoing, and defending and ensuring women’s Is/la/mic rights. They expressed confidence that such efforts will help prevent many harmful customs and un-Islamic practices in society
