Muhtasibs held reform and awareness sessions in six provinces on prohibiting the use of firecrackers and fireworks

The inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Khost, Kunar, Zabul and Kunduz held reformative and awareness-raising meetings with a number of residents in these provinces to promote Islamic values, improve social affairs and prevent the use of firecrackers and fireworks during wedding ceremonies and other celebrations.

During these meetings, the inspectors (Muhtasibs) emphasized the observance of Islamic Sharia principles, the maintenance of social order and respect for the rights of fellow Muslims.

They urged residents to uphold Islamic values and moral principles when organizing weddings and other celebrations, and to refrain from using firecrackers and fireworks, which cause disturbance and inconvenience to people, disrupt the peace of families and pose risks to the lives and property of citizens.

The ministry's inspectors (Muhtasibs) also stressed that celebrations should be held within the framework of Islamic values, with due respect for neighbours' rights, the preservation of public peace and the avoidance of extravagance and unnecessary expenses.

They noted that respecting people's rights, preventing harm to others and safeguarding social order and public tranquillity are among the important religious and social responsibilities of citizens.

Furthermore, during these meetings, the inspectors (Muhtasibs) called on residents of the six provinces to actively contribute to social reform, prevent harmful practices and promote a healthy culture of celebration by following Islamic guidelines and cooperating with the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, during inspections of local markets, the ministry's inspectors (Muhtasibs) collected nearly 5,000 firecrackers and similar explosive materials from across the cities.

They urged citizens, shopkeepers, importers and manufacturers to refrain from using, producing, importing, purchasing, selling and distributing firecrackers and fireworks, and to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining security, public peace and Islamic values.
