Five sorcerers were arrested by personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in Baghlan Province
Five individuals accused of practicing sorcery and exploiting people's religious beliefs were arrested by personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, in the center of Baghlan Province.
These individuals were detained following complaints filed by local residents and subsequent action by the ministry's personnel (Muhtasibs).
According to the evidence obtained, they were involved in creating discord among families and disrupting the marital lives of couples.
They were also accused of harming the religious and spiritual beliefs of citizens.
After the completion of preliminary investigations, the suspects’ cases were referred to the judicial and legal authorities to ensure the implementation of Is/la/mic justice and due legal process.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints in Baghlan Province emphasized the importance of safeguarding the religious and spiritual well-being of the public.
They stated that anyone seeking personal gain through practices contrary to Is/la/mic Sh/ar/ia and by exploiting people's religious beliefs would face firm action in accordance with Sh/ar/ia law.
These arrests come as personnel of the ministry have identified and detained 132 individuals accused of sorcery in Kabul and several other provinces since the beginning of the current year.
