Addressing 12 Cases Related to the Sharia Rights of Women in the Areas of Inheritance, Maintenance, and Mahr in Parwan and Takhar Provinces

Under Islamic Sharia, specific provisions and protections are established for women’s financial and family rights. 
Ensuring women’s religiously recognized rights in matters of inheritance, dowry (Mahr), and maintenance (Nafaqah) is among the issues emphasized in Islamic teachings.
To this end, officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, have comprehensively addressed 12 Sharia-related cases involving women concerning inheritance, maintenance, and dowry in the provinces of Parwan and Takhar, as part of their efforts to address public complaints and resolve people’s religious and legal concerns.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in these two provinces stated that the cases were reviewed in the presence of the parties involved, taking into consideration the provisions of Islamic Sharia, relevant documents, and the statements of both sides. 
As a result, the religiously recognized rights of the women concerned regarding inheritance, maintenance, and dowry were secured in accordance with Sharia provisions and principles.
The ministry officials added that addressing public complaints and providing avenues for resolving people’s religious and social problems through legal channels are among the responsibilities pursued to safeguard Sharia-based rights and create opportunities for the fair resolution of family and social disputes.
The officials also emphasized that the rights granted to women under Islamic Sharia, including inheritance, dowry, and maintenance, must be respected in accordance with Islamic teachings, and that Sharia principles and the legitimate rights of all parties should be taken into consideration in relevant cases.
The handling of these 12 Sharia-related cases involving women in Parwan and Takhar comes as officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints also addressed more than 100 Sharia-related cases involving women in various areas during the previous week.
